Are there any hidden fees I should know about?
No. There are zero listing fees, zero monthly subscription fees, and zero fees for storing or updating your portfolio. Payment processing is absorbed inside our 12% cut, so the 88% you see on your dashboard is the 88% you keep. The only fee that ever applies is a standard 3% refund-processing deduction if a buyer requests a refund you approve — and that one is itemised on every receipt.
How exactly does the 88/12 split work?
On every successful sale, Digital Bric-a-Brac retains 12% and the creator receives 88% of the gross transaction value. The split is calculated before any payment-processing costs, which we absorb. There are no volume tiers that lower your share as you grow — the 88% rate is identical whether you make $500 or $500,000 a year on the platform.
What's your refund policy, and who eats the cost?
Buyers can request a refund within 14 days for any technical fault or misrepresentation. If the seller agrees, the buyer is refunded in full and we absorb the 3% payment-processing fee internally. If the seller disputes, our trust & safety team reviews within 48 hours. Digital Bric-a-Brac never debits a seller's past earnings to cover a disputed refund — we hold a small reserve from the transaction in question only.
Does the buyer pay any extra transaction fee at checkout?
No. The price the buyer sees is the price the buyer pays — there is no buyer transaction fee added at checkout. Sellers set one transparent price; we display it in the buyer's local currency with all applicable taxes calculated up front. We chose this deliberately to remove the procurement-team friction that comes with surprise 3–8% fees at the last step.
How does the 48-hour review affect how fast I can start selling?
Every first-time listing from a new creator goes through our 48-hour human quality review — a real curator (never an algorithm alone) checks the file, the preview, and the metadata. Our historical approval rate is 96.4%, and the average first review returns in under 31 hours. Once your shop is established, follow-up listings on the same product line typically clear in under 12 hours.
Do you offer discounts, scholarships or non-profit pricing?
Yes. Verified students get free seller accounts for 12 months and a reduced 8% platform fee on their first $5,000 in sales. Registered non-profits receive the 88% rate plus a permanent fee waiver on their first 100 listings. We also run a quarterly Creator Grant covering listing visibility for under-represented creators — applications open every February, June and October.
